Question Host not found: using Comcast BrdBnd(frmly Att)

Using RH8

whenever I log into my box, it gives me some darn error about the host name not found.

I am using DHCP, I tell it to log in anyways. The host name should be h00ab<rest of mac>.att........net, but for some reason it thinks it is XA-BD-<rest of mac divided by hyphens>-54 instead.

I can connect to other IP programs no problem, but I think this problem prevents me from playing server. Is this some security precaution?
