Hitting walls with Real and mplayer

Dear All,

While trying to make mplayerplugin-in, I ran into the following error:

/usr/include/mozilla-1.4/xpcom/nscore.h:46:28: mozilla-config.h: No such file or directory

and indeed, this include file is nowhere to be found.

I was able to install RealPlayer 10, but the site I specifically wanted to view, and began me on this quest, requested the cook.so.6.0 and drv4.so.6.0 codecs, which were also nowhere to be found. I soft-linked to cook.so which seemed to halfway work, but my drv2.so softlink did not work.

I need either real or mplayer to view the video on the site I'm interested in (a Frontline episode on marketing), and neither works. What do I do?

Thanks in advance.

- Ben

I believe u can find the rpm for mplayer plugin for mozilla. Look on rpmfind.net or rpmseek.com.

Dear Jatt,

Forgive me for my ignorance. This is the first time I've used rpm. Package managers intimidate me, and I use Slack.

I ran:

rpm --install MPlayer-1.0-alt10.pre4.src.rpm

and no errors showed up. I unfortunately have no idea what to do next. What am I looking for? A source directory?
