Hi and welcome to LQ,

First of all: We are all volunteers here at LQ and "demanding" an answer ASAP is not how we like to see things done around here. Please refrain from doing this in the future.

About your question: You need to restart the job. A restart/reboot will kill all running processes, using nohup and/or putting it in the background (&) will not protect you from this.

Hope this helps.

Hi
Am very sorry.by mistake I typed like that.Very sorry again.
About your answer,it means that if we restart the server ,then again we have to run the nohup command.

But in our application one Poller class is there,it picks the request for every 5 minuts. We are calling that class in one shell program and we run that program by using below command
all files we put in one directory.

nohup sh startce.sh &

This command we run when ever poller not picking up the requests. It is very rare.Though we restart the server also it picks up.

So my question is y some times its not picking up irrelevent to the restarting of server and also in another testing environment this startup directory is placed in another server. Now we want to change that directory and place that directory in application server it self.So for that we just paste the directory in our appserver and run that command is enough or we ahev to do any other changes.Kindly help me.
