Please post the output of 'ifconfig -a' and 'lspci -v' as root.

Spell out your words, please. And if this is a new installation, you really should pick something else, other than Red Hat Enterprise, unless you are going to PAY FOR Red Hat Enterprise. If you really, REALLY NEED RHEL, you should load CentOS instead. It's 99.x% identical, but free. But loading server-class distros on a laptop is always going to be hard, because the OS is designed for a SERVER...that is, something that does NOT have wifi, bluetooth, sound, etc. *IF* you can get such devices working, it may be hard to.

That said, what do you mean by "not working"? Details? What you've done/tried to make it work? Where you're getting messages? Run a lspci command and post the parts that reference the ethernet adapters. And is the device turned on? Most of those laptops are broadcom cards...do you have the broadcom firmware loaded? Any messages in dmesg about it?

I don't see ifconfig recognizing a wireless device. What does 'lspci -v' output?

Edit Nevermind

Edit #2: It would appear you have a BCM4313 wireless card. It would not appear however that it is using any drivers. What does 'modprobe b43' output?

Try some of the instructions on this page:

http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

yes my wireless cards vendor is brodcom and from where I can download brodcom firmware

If you tried a brief search on Google you'd find it:
http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

You can do "yum install b43-firmware" and get the package. AGAIN...if you are NOT PAYING FOR RHEL, you should NOT USE IT. See previous comments about CentOS and server-distros on laptops, since you ignored them before.

John VV 08-22-2013 03:11 PM

Also RHEL 6.4 is the current
the old 6.1 might not have any support for that card

seeing as you are using the old 6.1 eather you ARE paying red hat an "arm and a leg" for support and the backports to 6.1
or
this is an unsupported ,unregistered , and NOT paid for install
if so
you DO NOT install that driver !!!
you must have a paid for support contract to install it !

or

install the FREE rebuild CentOS 6.4
