Hi,i'm trying to install Skype on an Acer aspire one netbook
I am trying to install Skype,but when i try to "open" i get a box that comes up with - You are attempting to run "system-install-packages" which requires administrative privileges,but more information is needed in order to do so.Authenticating as "root" Then it is asking for a password.I have tried all the passwords that i can think of. Can anyone help?

In a Terminal run the command: cat /proc/version

Hi,the netbook is running Linpus Linux Lite v1.3109. I hope that makes sense.

Linpus Lite is not very good. You might be better to install a different distro.
Have a look at http://www.reghardware.com/2008/09/0...ips/page3.html > It says you need the Fedora (7!) version. On the Skype site at http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/get-...your-computer/ the Fedora 13+ version is available. |
