Hi , i'm new to Linux and i have issues with atmel sama5d3 board

I hav atmel sama5d3 board , where i hav ported ubuntu kernel on it , andriod 4.4.2 on it , but as if now mic not working for our recording .I need some suggestions on how make it work.

I suggest, that you reword your question, to provide more detailed information, such as which OS you are using, which software, etc. Please check on the respective guidelines, like for example here.

In addition to what bbuske has offered: It is not that you didn't describe the OS and software, you instead described two operating systems, Ubuntu which is a form of Linux, and Android. You did not say what version of Ubuntu. Just saying that the mic does not work for recording doesn't tell anyone much about how to help you.

Think for a moment about this. You say you've ported Ubuntu and Android to this ATMEL board. These are not simple tasks, even if you had a pre-compiled distribution where you had to store information to a media and then get it running on the board. Therefore you can guess that any answer related to whether or not the mic is working may be similarly complicated, and also will require some analysis.

Review the link provided by bbuske and also take the time to document what you have done to debug the situation you do have now. This added data will help others to assist your more effectively.

Cite whether or not you've checked system settings to verify that the mic is not muted.
Cite whether or not you've checked system settings to verify your mic is discovered within the system.
Cite whether or not the mic ever worked, and the conditions under which it did work. If it never has worked, this will be interesting and helpful to know.
Cite which operating system you are working with, Ubuntu Linux (and version), or Android 4.4.2. If you've tried both and have had no success with either, this will be interesting and helpful to know.

ubuntu - 14.04LTS.I think this will be track of what i m doin ,also i have installed few more packages like

ALSA device wm8904 .android 4.4.2.
