Smile Hi,Help me , I am getting error no string under cursor


could you please help me , When I am using vi editor I am getting error No String under cursor, when will this error will come. Thank you.

Hi & Welcome to LQ.

Try using vim it works much better.

vim (name of file)
If your not sure how to use vim run this command in the terminal and do the exercises.

What distro are you running?
Different distros link 'vi' to various clones of the vi text editor, it could be vi, vim, nvi, or elvis.
