Hi all - newbie here with a Suse/Wine question

Hi all - Windows idiot here ready to add Suse 8.1 on a Laptop with a dual boot (Win XP Pro/Suse - figured Suse is the easiest for a Windows idiot like myself to start off).

Most of the apps I have on Windows are common or older files, Office 2000, Adobe Illustrator, Afterdark Games, etc. so I'm assuming I shouldn't have too many problems. I did see the WineHQ site and was curious how to go about installing the file. The site itself reccomended installing while running Linux, but I'm curious of an alternate route in case I can't get the modem properly working and have to do it while running Windows.

Also, does anyone in their experience know the limitations of Wine and what it cannot run?

Sorry if the questions are vague, thanks in advance for all the help...

More than likely you won't have to run windows in side wine.

Go to this website below.

linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-lin-soft-en/

It will tell you A Replacement program that does the same function as the Windows programs do.....

This should elimanate most of the problems of needing to use wine......

later....
