Hey guys just a couple of questions I really need answered !

Hey Boys and Girls as you may have guess im new 2 linux hehe I got a few questions I have just been looking for ages to fin the answers to first my distro is RH 7.3.

Ok here goes

1. When I try an connect to DALnet using Xchat with no script or anything totally untouched I get

--- Looking up irc.dal.net..
--- Connecting to 65.161.40.2 (65.161.40.2) port 6662..
--- Connected. Now logging in..
-twisted.ma.us.dal.net- *** Looking up your hostname...
-twisted.ma.us.dal.net- *** Found your hostname, cached
-twisted.ma.us.dal.net- *** Checking Ident
-twisted.ma.us.dal.net- *** No Ident response
--- Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (You match the pattern of a known trojan, please check your system.)
--- Disconnected (Remote host closed socket).

Weird maybe I got a trojan but I really doubt it and I can connect to irc.xchat.com. Does this mean that DALnet wont let linux users on or something ?

You Probably get this question all the time ! But sorry I goto ask for myself !

I, like many other have NTFS partition running Windows 2K now is there ANY way possible to see my WIN2K Files from Linux Red Hat 7.3 If there is please tell me how or where I can get instructions I have red pages and tried things but there for other Distros and FAT 32 ! and I swear I read somewhere RH 7.3 is compatible with NTFS or is it just this air freshner talking ?

Im Sorry to have to ask these questions you guys probably get them all the time but hey what are n00bs for and what is a forum for n00bs for hehehehe

Thanks
Paul :Pengy:

Here is an answer to the second part of your question, maybe it will work for you. If not do a search on this site and type NTFS and you should get about 1000 options.

That's why we have the Search function on the site.....

Also you should have a more detail Thread Title instead of.. "Hey guys just a couple of questions I really need answered !"
Maybe something like NTFS problems... it helps people browsing the forums and answering know what the problem is before reading it.
