Help!!! Xine???

Hi,

Can someone please explain to me how to go about viewing a movie file. I have tried double clicking on the file (Mpeg), then a box appears giving me the option to open the file. But with what do I open it with??? Is it Xine? I thought that if I double clicked on the file it would auto open with media player? I'm running on Mandrake 10.1

If you are using KDE right click on the file and select "open with". Choose xine if thats the application you want to play the files with. There is also an option to permanently associate files with certain applications. The procedure is almost similar if you use GNOME.
