" can anyone tell me the difference between the personel version and the pro"

Linux comes with a huge number of appliction programs in addition to the base operating system. SuSE Pro has more applications than SuSE Personal. Go to the SuSE web site and look at the list of programs in the Pro and Personal versions and see whether you need any of the applications which are only available in the Pro version.

Be prepared. Create a LifeBoat CD.
