HELP with SELINUX

I am using RHEL 5.0, and I am trying to connect to a NIS server and a CUPS server. Everytime I try to connect SElinux blocks the connection. I have turn the firewall off, and disabled SElinux, but I get the same thing. I do have network access, and I can print over the network to a Jet direct printer. Any Ideas?
Thanks

Well cups uses port 631 or 515 (if ldp is speciified) do you have those ports opened?
Also if you packet sniff the connection what does that show?
By Jet direct printer you mean HP right? I think they use 9100 or something like that.

Both SElinux and iptables have been turned off

Try telnetting to the NIS server on the correct port and look at the output, possibly in conjunction with tcpdump or wireshark (aka ethereal).
Ditto the CUPS server.

Okay so what does a packet sniff (Wireshark) show?
