help with qmailadmin login

I installed qmailadmin and when i get to the login screen, I don't know what password the qmail install used for postmaster. I have tried a bunch of diff passes including roots, but i keep getting a "bad request" page. Any ideas?

i also tried to change the password and get with

vpopmail/bin/vpasswd password

/var/vpopmail/bin/vpasswd postmaster@localhost.localdomain <mypassword>
could not connect to mysql update server Access denied for user 'vpopmail'@'localhost' (using password: YES) with database

and error!
