help with nic

ok i just installed fc6 on my laptop now my nic won't work. when i try to restart the service it say no such device. i'm new to this linux thing and i have spent hours reading on the net trying to fix this but i have no clue. can anyone help me???

Generally, look at "How to activate/deactivate network connections" and "How to configure network connections" on Fedora Core 6 Starter Guide at

Does this help? Other than that you need to tell us the make and model of your NIC and how give details of how you normally connect to the internet.
