Help with mounting cdrom on fedora core 4

Please, if anyone can help me with this problem, I'm at my wits end. I just re-installed fedora core 4 and the problem I am encountering is with the cdrom. In my fstab the mouse points to /dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder1 and it's on auto for filesystem.
I tried to change my fstab to /mnt/cdrom but it won't save it after a reboot.

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. I had fedora running before and also located the cdrom without problems.

I can't figure this out.

can you copy/paste the exact cdrom line in your fstab file?
you say the file doesnt save when you edit it? are you editing the file as root?

Thanks nadroj, i figured it out. The dvd burner I had was faulty. I plugged in a older burner and everything is fine now. Thank you for responding, much appreciated.
