Hi there,

Apologize if i am posting this in a wrong group.

I am very new to Linux and trying to get fluency in linux terminal, before jumping to Grapical interface.

Now I am getting ok with file commands Ex: ls, mkdir .. etc.

But I like to make use of the applications through terminal. Can you please guide me the right way to how to find the available applications & examples.

I am using Fedora Core - 5

Many thanks
Ravi Jaganathan

Ravinath, I have moved your post to it's own thread in Linux-Newbie

One quick way to get started is by entering "info coreutils". Also, "help" gets you a quick list.

Eventually, you will want to get a book, but for starters there are lots of tutorials on the net. The RUTE guide (link in previous post) is often cited. Also, look at TLDP.org--especially: "Bash Guide for Beginners" by Machtelt Garrels.

And of course there is Google........."Linux commands" gets 41 million hits
