You could try to use the boot floppies to load the installer. The instructions are on the cd under rootdisks

What's on the cd you burned Slack to? One big file or directories and files?

Check you are burning the iso correctly (its not a normal file, like an mp3 or a photo, its a disc-amiga and so you need to select a special option in your burning program).

You could also check that your iso file is not corrupt by calculating the md5 checksum and comparing it to the published checksum.

If this doesnt help, try another computer if you have access to one. Maybe the probelm is with your hardware and not with the disc? (cdom drive might need cleaning for example)

Good luck!

You have to burn it as an image not just burn the iso file to the cdrom. What program are you using to burn the file?

CBlue 04-09-2004 09:56 AM

Try k3b, you have the option to burn an image with that program.
