Help with Installation of Linux RH 9.x on WIN XP
:Pengy:
G'Day Guys , Apologize if this is very elementary but I shall learn as I go, how to go about doing things Firstly before wasting your time I tried looking if this was posted earlier but apparently it was a couple of years ago on 98 .. This is my story :: I have windows XP installed on my rig which has a 80G DD , i have linux RH 9.x with me on CD, i booted from the CD and then went into installation of linux text mode , it asked me about automatic partition and manual partition and the disk druid i chose automatic and then at a later stage it keep asking me for root hdd to proceed with the install . On my 80G i have 2 partitions of F: & G: of 20G each , i would like to install Linux RH on the G partition and have a dual boot option and also create a boot disk . Any inputs on this would be much appreciate , I plan on dedicating this night to install Linux Hoping some noble soul would have some time for me . I get an error message 'Could not allocate requested partitions: partitioning failed: Could not allocate requested partitions' Thank You ! :newbie: |
what is your G partition right now? fat32? ntsf? it has to be ext2/ext3 format.
