Help with firefox

I recently downlloaded Firefox. The only way I could get the install to work is is to run it from the terninal window.
Now the only way I can get FireFox to run is to open a terminal window and issue the following command "./firefox". I can not get it to run by double clicking on the "firefox" file in the directory. It wants we to "associate an action" with this file, but I do not which action to associate with it. (the file is listed as a "application/x-shellscript").
Can anyone please help me with how to get this work?

Thanks a lot in Addvance.....

Yes. Check you have yum installed. If yes, remove the firefox you installed and run the command "yum install firefox".

If no, which version of fedora are you using? Core 1 or core 2?

A bit of a hack, but I created a simply shell script in my /usr/bin folder that simply calls it. There are more complicated shell scripts that allow you to type something like firefox, but I can't say I really care.

As far as no associated app, you might try creating a launcher linked to the program.
