help with ettercap please

Hey guys, I'm using ettercap and i add the target host to host 1, the router to host 2, start mitm and sniff remote connections and then start sniffing..now I'm not sure if the mitm is working so i try to run plugin chk_poison or something along those lines to see is the arp poisoning is running. when i do that though the program closes and my screen looks like the following:

iptables v1.3.6: can't initialize iptables table 'nat': Permission denied ( you must be root)
perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

and yes, i'm running it : sudo ettercap -g
so it's from root, otherwise it doesn't dettect my wlan0 anyways
now I'm new to linux here, but I'm running a brand new version of ubuntu (feisty), so my iptables are the newest i think, is there anything i have to add to the iptables to make them to work?

thanks guys, any help is appreciated

You may not have nat module (ip_nat.ko). Also, I hope you're sniffing in your own private network.

The thing is that it should be in your kernel if it's a default one. So first search your disk.
