help with "chmod a+x filename.bin"

I am new to linux and know the basics. I have done alot of reseach on installing a bin file, but I seem to can't make the comands work.

I want to install Real player, however it's a bin file.

I have used the comand "chmod a+x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin" however I get an error message. I seem to be in the right directory as well.

was wondering if anyone could help.
Thanks.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
