Help with AVview

Ok I installed the Gatos drivers, and the kernel modules, and I've compiled AVview, and when I go to test it, everything comes up properly and I get this out of the terminal window:

libzvbi available export modules:
HTML:keyword "html" mimetype "text/html" extension "html,htm"
PNG:keyword "png" mimetype "image/png" extension "png"
PPM:keyword "ppm" mimetype "image/x-portable-pixmap" extension "ppm"
Text:keyword "text" mimetype "text/plain" extension "txt"
VTX:keyword "vtx" mimetype "application/videotext" extension "vtx"
control_screen=
This only works with km from CVS at the moment
.setup.f.pane1.f.canvas.f.optionmenu0.menu
NUM_ADAPTORS=1
Adaptor 0: ATI Radeon Video Adapter
type input video image
ports 69
69 ATI Radeon Video Adapter

this all seems fine to me. Two windows open as well, one with a dialog box saying "It appears you have not run AVview 0.11.12 before. Please go through all settings and adjust them as appropriate" and the Video window itself, displaying a pitch black screen. I push "OK" on the dialog box and the terminal starts spewing out read line =....in a constant never ending loop, and the program hangs, can't click on any of the opinions, the text and and what not disappears, what am I forgetting to do or doing wrong?

I`m getting almost the exact same error but i get this output:

Hm, could it have something to do with my libzvbi version?
