Help with Apache Please

Hi All,

Please can some one help me ? I'am trying to set up Apache on my home network so I can test web pages. I've been following the manual from Apache.org and its says the following:

"As an alternative to invoking the httpd binary directly, a shell script called apachectl is provided which can be used to control the daemon process with simple commands such as apachectl start and apachectl stop"

But I can not work out where Apachectl is or where to control from, Iam using RH7.2 and Apache 1.3.

Thanks Rich

quick note on ftp...its insecure.....using on the private network is ok because im sure you trust the computers on your network but i wouldnt recommend opening it up to the outiside world.....dunno about you but im paranoid like that. sftp is cool tho.
