Help with a mini script

Good day

Would someone please help me with the following

1) how can i count an article written by one author.
Now if the article has more then one author ,like author names are seperated by commas it should not count it.

2)finally a command that output the single authors name,to a file, and they should be sorted alaphabatically

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Edit: How can we count articles found in a file, now these articles are seperated by ----------.

Thanks again

What have you done to solve this problem?

Are you looking to write a shell script or perhaps perl or some other language?

You did not answer the first question ... what have you done? We are here to help, not to do the work for you.
