HELP-trying to get my music onto gtkpod ipod manager

Thanks for reading this. I am brand new to linux, with an infants i.q. of it. I saved my songs off of itunes onto a flash drive, then put them on my new lap top with linux. when I go to take them from my music folder to the gtkpod manager I get this error message. "filetype is known but analysis failed". Can anyone help me please? Thank you

Itunes prefers aac files, but you may need an additional linux package to support this:
On your profile, note down what distro you are using, it helps us to help you- if ubuntu, you can open terminal and
sudo apt-get install gtkpod-aac
Welcome to linux! Everyone started somewhere, you just have to keep hacking, keep asking, and keep backing up...
