help. themes have destroyed my gnome (RH8)
 

Hello,

Looked everywhere for rh8 users with this problem. After using the buggy theme manager under gnome, trying to install Noia themes (icons and such) under gtk. Now after X starts (splash screen works fine) I log in and it hangs as NO icons show up. In root too. I have tried everything. In safe mode, I get an error message when I do the above:

gtk ** WARNING: unable to locate theme engine module_path: "bluecurve",

I guess where I am at this point is what system file handles the theme when users don't specify their own (cuase that don't work with my setup)!?

I lookled in /usr/share for a gtkrc file, could not find any call to bluecurve.



I am locked out of my laptop here and don't want to reinstall. Thanx so much,

have you tried sending the error message to gnome for a responce they usually take about a week to respond but they will give you an answer.....

I don't think that gnome will help me. I think it is a redhat + gtk problem.
