First of all hi there everyone!
This site and forum rocks!!!! I've learned so much by reading just a few hundred threads off here.
Anyhow, I am having a small problem and I hope you guys can help me out.
I am a total newb in this because I just installed red hat 7.3 about 4 days ago. It's been running fine, I've been installing other themes, installing GAIM 0.66 (which also runs very well!) and some other stuff.
However, today, I have accidentally shut off my system through the power button. I know it's not good at all, but I was gonna turn on my other windows system (both PC towers are stacked up over each other) and I accidentally went for the wrong power button
Now, the system was running some programs such as Galeon, KMail, GAIM while it happened. I can actually boot up "fine", there is just this small little "problem" I haven't had before.
here a short BOOTUP sequence:
Starting sshd:
Starting xinetd:
Starting lpd: No Printers Defined
Starting sendmail: _
this is where it kinda hangs - it sits there for probably 1-2 minutes (with a blinking cursor) but if you see the rest flashing on and off like nothing, this seems to take an awful long time within the bootup sequence.
After maybe 2 minutes again, it continues just fine with the rest
and even brings up the X windows as this is what I'm using as the boot method.
Now, does anyone know how I could go ahead and look into this and try to fix it?
Maybe I can check some kind of boot log and see what happened there or something, it's just I would like to get this fixed and I'm sure I also could learn off that.
PLEASE HELP ME - YOU GUYS ROCK!
NOTICE: whenever I check mail, it works just fine and very quick!, however, whenever I send emails now, it again takes a while to do so (sendmail must work because I actually receive my test mails back)
