Most likely it didn't remove Lilo from the MBR if you installed it there as your boot loader. Try booting with a Windows boot disk, usually the Windows 98 boot disk works fine and do a fdisk /MBR to wipe it off so you can boot back into Windows with no problems.
If you didn't install Lilo to the MBR, then let us know what you used as your boot loader, etc ?? |
thanks, i'll try that. i'm just using LILO

Well, I haven't gotten LILO unistalled, but I know everything is okay...so thats good. I have a lack of Win98 disks, only XP and 2000, and they don't have fdisk as far as I know. Me being only 13 and having a limited experience in these things, I wouldn't know. Any help/comments would be helpful. Or just words, I like being talked to about these thigns hehehe

Get someone to make a bootable DOS floppy disk with 'fdisk' on it and type
FDISK/MBR as tricky suggested. |
if you know of a computer that has win98 on it, format a floppy with the option Copy System Files Only, that will make it bootable and like everyone else said, make sure it has fdisk on it, you can find the file in c:\WINDOWS\COMMAND (i think) copy fdisk.exe to the floppy if Copy System Files didnt put it on there. If fdisk is not located where i just said, then try a windows search for fdisk.

I don't have any systems running Win98, I'm searching. We're all running XP, I may be able to get one from a 2000, but I'm looking. Thanks for the help!
