help reading xsession-errors-can't log in

I messed up something with xorg but I can't remember what file I edited (i had just copy-pasted from a forum post here about making a samsung monitor work with correct resolution). Now when I try to log in, the screen goes black and it just brings me back to the log in screen. I can enter console only mode.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.

I've looked around the net for similar problems but no solution I've tried has fixed it... including reinstalling xorg-xerver, ubuntu-desktop, or resetting configs.

I cannot answer your question about repairing the damage, but perhaps I can locate the problem(s).
In addition to the many Compiz errors, which I do not believe is the problem, there is also this:

Please ask your system administrator to enable user sharing.

The problem is that there is supposed to be a file or directory called usershare in /var/lib/samba.
It is also telling you to enable user sharing, which I assume requires said file.
You must create this file or directory. That is all the help I can give. I have no idea what the contents are supposed to be.
