Help please Samsung camera drivers

Hi I have just joined this site (5 mins ago)

I recently purchased a Samsung digital camera (modelD760) When I put the cd that comes with it in my cd driver this came up:

Ê Camera driver : This enables images to transfer between the camera
and PC.
This camera uses the USB Storage Driver as the camera driver. You
can use the camera as a USB card reader. After installing the driver
and connecting this camera to the PC, you can find [Removable Disk]
in [Windows Explorer] or [My computer]. A USB Storage Driver is
provided only for Windows. A USB Driver for MAC is not included with
the Application CD. You can use the camera with Mac OS 9.2~10.4.
Ê Samsung Master : This is the all-in-one multi media software solution.
You can download, view, edit and save your digital images and movie
clips with this software. This software is only compatible with Win-
dows.

Does this mean I cannot use this driver on my Linux??? Also how can I find where to download the correct driver for my camera to run on Linux??

Sorry if this is an easy question but I am new to Linux having previously a windows man!!

Hi

If the camera is recognised as a FileSystem when attached to the USB then you shouldn't have an issue. Just plug it in and depending on your distribution it should pop up as an extra drive in /mnt or /media.

Worst case, what media card does the camera take? Just buy a cheap memory card reader if your PC doesn't have one. eBay sell them as cheap as £3 these days.
