Help needed using diff files to patch squid

Hello all, I would be very grateful if someone could please explain to me how I would go about applying a diff file to add tcp_outgoing_priority to squid 2.5 STABLE 3. I've got the diff, the src for squid and a very short tempered BOSS, please help!!!!
Thanks.
