FIRST I MUST THANK ALL FOR FAST REPLY ON MY FIRST REQUIRE ON INSTALATION OF UBUNTU.
AT THE END I GIT A CD FROM A FRIEND AND THE INSTALATION OF UBUNTU WAS A SUCCESS.
NOW THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE AND I HOPE THAT SOMEONE WILL COME WITH A SOLUTION IS THAT I CANT GET A WILRELESS CONNECTION TO THE INTERNET.
ANY IDEA ON HOW TO ACTIVATE THE WIRELESS CARD?
ITS OK WHEN I CONNECT THE MACHINE WITH ETHERNET CABLE. INTERNET IS FINE , BUT NOT WIRELESS AT ALL.

Turn off your caps lock...it's considered shouting, and is a bit rude.

And we might be able to help you better, if you told us what version of Ubuntu you're running, and what kind of hardware and wireless card you're using.

@ katsito -- in addition to the above request to provide more information, you will get better help, and more views of your thread, if you click EDIT + ADVANCED and change the thread title to something more descriptive of the problem, such as:

"Help with <wireless device> on Ubuntu version x.xx"

Best regards,
Sasha

Hardware information...

Look in the documentation for your system or use the command, as "su", "lshw" to see what device you need to configure and post back.

Help with <wireless device> on Ubuntu version 9.10

[B]In the past i had requested help with wireless connection as ubuntu won't recognise my wireless card.
Internet through Ethernet cable is OK. No prob there.
Ubuntu is running on a partition and i also run windows XP where wireless connection to internet is fine.

I had some replies and i was requested to provide further info of the wireless card, which i disclose below.
The Wireless card is :Wireless CB54G3/MP54G3 wireless LAN Card

and here is some info from ubuntu system:
-network:1 UNCLAIMED
description: Ethernet controller
product: [AirConn] INPROCOMM IPN 2220 Wireless LAN Adapter (rev 01)
vendor: Linksys, A Division of Cisco Systems
physical id: 5
bus info: pci@0000:0a:05.0
version: 00
width: 32 bits
clock: 33MHz
capabilities: cap_list
configuration: latency=0 maxlatency=32 mingnt=32
resources: ioport:44c0(size=32) memory:b3004c00-b3004c1f memory:b3006800-b3006fff

I hope info is correct as i am very New to Ubuntu and it happens to like the whole concept.
Hope for a solution to my problem and Thank All in advance.
Billy
