Help neded shell script


Hi
I need to write a small script that will insert a few lines into another txt file depending on some conditions.
Could you plesae help how to go about

Could you be more specific like what languuage the script is sposed to be, what the text files and conditions are? We're extremely willing to lend you a hand at LQ (as long as we're not doing your homework) but we're kinda low on ESP. At least I am...

well, looking at the subject, i'd hazard a guess that the language in question is bash. the best guide on bash is the Advanced Bash Scripting Guide - google it.

Hi!, I´m also new here but I can recommend u this web, www.tdlp.org. Inside, u can find several guides very usefull to start programming in Linux, including a basic shell guide and the advanced bash scripting guide.
