Could you be more specific like what languuage the script is sposed to be, what the text files and conditions are? We're extremely willing to lend you a hand at LQ (as long as we're not doing your homework) but we're kinda low on ESP. At least I am...
well, looking at the subject, i'd hazard a guess that the language in question is bash. the best guide on bash is the Advanced Bash Scripting Guide - google it.
