Help...Monitor issues w/ FC7

I am very new to Linux, and installed FC7 with a friend who is somewhat new to Linux, we are both trying to learn.

Once install is completed there is a 2-3 inch black bar down the left side of the screen. I have tried to change the resolution and monitor settings, with no success. I have a Dell 221n flat panel wide screen that when I run my windows machine on it is 1680x1050. It appears the resolution works fine on the FC7 box, but there is just a black bar.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I am very new to linux and FC7....

thx lloydxmas

Well you should post the specifications of the hardware in the machine, the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file being used and the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file this one is rather big you will have to put it into two posts.
