Unhappy Help! Message: Looking for CDROM in: /dev/scdo

Help! I know the basics of a computer but I have a new progect that I am starting and I put the cd in and of course I have to reboot computer... software comes up to load.... it starts to load.. then I get this message:

Looking for CDROM in: /dev/scdo.....

then it hangs.....

my next message is:

Can't find Linux filesystem,sorry
Dropping you to a (very limited) shell.
Press reset button to quit.

Additional built in commands available:

If someone could help me asap it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Some useful information might be something along the lines of what is this cdrom that you are booting? Did you burn it? Did you verify that it was a good burn?

You know, some basic information so someone actually knows what you're trying to do.

I am very confused also. Are you trying to boot off the cd to install Linux?

Did you check to see if the cd is corupted using checksum?

Yes, We first need to identify what this CD is and its purpose. You will need to give more information, answers to the following questions may give us enough information for us to help you.

i) What is the purpose of the CD ROM that you mention?
ii) What is labelled on this CD ROM?
iii) Did you purchase this CD ROM or did someone just give the CD ROM to you?
iv) Do you really know what you are supposed to do with this CD ROM, for instance, are you 100% sure that you really are supposed to boot your computer from this CD ROM?
