If I were you I would first install the newest Fedora, which is 18, soon to be 19. Fedora 14 reached end of life in December of 2011 so you'd have issues with updates (none) and software repositories. Also the newer version would have better support for newer hardware.
As for the codecs and post installation stuff to do there is a wealth of how-to's on Fedora Forums |
I would suggest you to install Ubuntu on your laptop.
Take a look at this link having some reviews of you laptop model. |
I agree with Ubuntu if the intentions are for Windows like interface, and all the multimedia that comes along with it.

also fedora ( as per it's mandate) will NEVER ship with non free and non gpl software fedora dose NOT support most music and video formats " Out of the Box" for that you need third party repos ( some that are not located inside the US of A ) see the mjmwired guide ---- for Fedora 18 this will not work on the now dead fedora 14 ----- http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f18.html |

These pages should be a help to you-
Good luck; syedmahmood14;) on which distribution you decide on. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop https://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora |
This report says that everything should work (except perhaps the webcam)
http://www.linlap.com/acer_aspire_v3-571g Bluetooth is said to need the 3.8 kernel. If that's the case, then Fedora 18 will be no use: you'll need Ubuntu 13.04 (or one of its derivatives — Kubuntu, Xubuntu — if you don't like Ubuntu's peculiar user interface). |
