Help me to solve "LI" error after installation
 
HI,
i have installed suse 10.3 KDE .
with bootable cd.
there is no error came when installing, which means error free installation.

i am using 120 gb ide hdd , which is connected to Primary Master.

details of partitions are given below which i have given to install suse 10.3. a:-/boot 400mb (ext2)
b:-/swap 2gb(because my ram size is 1gb)
c:-/ 4gb(root)(raiser fs)
d:-/user 100gb (jfs)


After installation complete.
it ask for reboot in 10 sec.

after reboot it shows

booting from local disk..

help me out i have installed it already 3 times.

It is a LILO error: it means it performs stage 1 of the boot sequence, then load stage 2 but don't execute it, maybe due to a wrong disk geometry or to the fact it cannot find the boot.b file. Anyway, is there any specific reason to choose LILO as boot loader. Why not GRUB? You can give it a try and see if it solves the problem.

i had a close look when installing it again,
i have not find any option to using GRUB or LILO.

is there any problem with partition i am using ?

it is showing after installation LI


please help me out.

Hi,
Now a different error is coming

i am giving some hint below.
error msg is :

error occurred while installing GRUB

GNU GRUB version 0.97 (640k Lower/3072k upper memory)

error 24 : Attempt to access block outside partition.
grub > quit




please help me out i am waiting for any reply.

Try booting from a live disk (your install disk by the sound of it), and issuing the command grub-install /dev/hda in a terminal as root user. This should then install GRUB on your primary master hard drive. Try rebooting then and see how you go...
