Hi there,

As the super user, type the command:
Code:
yum -y install wine
Seems pretty simple.

Cheers

Installing wine is pretty simple, both previous postings show the way. What will really give you a headache is to find the proper options in case of certain Win software, and also to have all required DLL's available - these are not part of the core wine installation.

HI Wine user,

Choose from the menu:
System -> Administration -> Add/Remove Software

Write down into the find box [wine] and click <Find> or <CR>

And don't thank me for telling you all this, for you will be much better off WITHOUT Wine. Everything you can do under wine you can do better 'above' wine.

Have a nice day!

Hi,
I'm completely new to linux. I recently installed Fedora 11 with VMware workstation. I downloaded the Wine file (wine-1.0.1.tar.bz2 and wine-1.0.1.tar.bz2.sign, its a source archive i think)from http://www.winehq.org/site/download. Those two files are now in my flash disk. I went throught the wine user guide but they haven't explained about how to install it in detail, but i found that, "Compiling & installing Wine from source is slightly more difficult than using a package". I went to http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages looking for packages but again its saying, i should install some library's before building Wine and leads to http://winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/t...l-wine-deps.sh. I went there & found a web page with some codes. I would like someone to help me with installing Wine in a step by step manner. Plzzz....

Regards,
Anish
