Help me, please.....

please help me, i am new in linux, i use slackware 12, i already succesed to install slack, although one night i must to try and failed, but now after i have installed slack, i have a problem, on my soundcard, i can't hear music, the no sound out, i use xmms, i can play but no sound i heard. please help me, i use note book Acer Aspire 4720 Z, help me all my good friends.....

Could the volume be turned all the way down? Or even in mute?
Look for a speaker icon on your taskbar or a mixer program that would allow you to adjust the volume.
If that fails, check if you have a driver loaded for your specific sound card (use lsmod)
and check if a driver is loaded.
Also you can try to do a search for your hardware on this site.
