Help me! I cannot install Suse from external hard disk

Hi everyone,

I am Sokha from Cambodia. I am new to Linux. I got a copy of new version of Suse on an external hard disk. I wanted to install it from there. After I changed the boot sequence to USB hardisk in Bios, I started to install it, I think the system could not find it and started to boot from local hard disk. Eventually, it started the Windows. What should I do so that I can install Suse from USB hard disk?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Sokha.

You don't install SUSE from a usb HDD... unless the HDD contains the install image.
You need to be able to boot from usb mass storage.
Note that booting and installing are different things. From your description, you did not "start to install it", you started to boot it - but the boot process went right to the internal drive.

It would seem that your bios does not support this kind of boot, you'll need to use a workaround.
