If your cd is the problem then just put the bootable media on to a flash drive, it will be the same as using a disk but from a flash drive. The only other thing you might have to do is press F10 (or what ever it is) to get in to the boot menu and select usb. Here is about 20 diffrent Live CD's that are for flash drives

Just copy the image over to the flash restart your computer and you will enter the Live CD.

Arrow live-usb

if you don't have any extra CD-drive from e.g. another computer, try to start up an OS (which is capable to) via an USB-stick (you can put an ISO on it by using UnetBootin or something like that => creating LiveUSB)...

and then (in Live-mode) run the commands given in the other posts...
