Lol don't have an aneurysm, relax, it's dealt with. Thanks bud.
i am relaxed.
actually, not so much anymore after reading this answer.
it seems you found a solution to your problem but don't communicate it to us.
remember, each forum thread is also there to help others with same/similar problems, so withholding the solution, or leaving it unclear, is not ok.

HELP! I want to *learn* iso booting (I used to use SunOS4, before iso invented, I think!)
(but my only internet [for my asus 1000HA XPsp2 netbook] atm is my Nokia E5 3g phone).
So, I can use Kali at LinuxZoo.net (after the users "in front" of me finish), but no iso there!
Does your .iso have 55aa as the *last two* bytes, in the *first* block? [od -x /dev/...]
What model is your laptop (IF you don't mind me asking...I'm 'harmless', not a 'spy'!)
I want to try the same way (boot .iso written to external drive, as if that's all I have
[unless someone wants to trade me their old laptop for my useless WT7Win8.1 tablet
which I wasted the 'last' of my money on, a couple years ago] Must netsh my ad-hoc Joiku)
Thanks In Advance for your help, FrozenPea123!
Update: Oh, the old mini.iso I have might work (I just found it via this -> this )
Update2: it works! It's some Ubuntu netinstaller; Idk what hda2 is tho (empty dir)
Using ttylinux, I dd'ed it to a disk. Needed 256M ram; 192M sidetracked me with:
---[ end Kernel panic – not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown block(0,0)
I'd guess this is one of the FEW .iso's that has 55aa as last two bytes in first block.

Honestly dude, I don't get it.
Are you only reading every second post?
I did come to a solution, and I posted about it.

Actually, I gave up, got a USB stick and booted it from there instead.
I did get it to boot the live addition, but it refused to install the full.
I just downloaded Win32DiskImager for windows, and mounted it from there.
You have to manually type in the full path, clicking the folders button won't work.
Let me know if you figure something out that I couldn't!
You "quoted" my ramblings while I was still rambling [Update-editing] into it, LOL.
I found where I got that 48MB! mini.iso Ubuntu from: here!
You can 'dd' write it to your external dive and it will boot, where others won't (wiki MBR 55aa).
But you need a 'good' internet connection (it tried to burn-up my old cellphone tether)!
Wait.... this ... that 3rd party pkgs break kali... Idk... (+ "Gov't watchlist" rumors...)
Does kali at LinuxZoo.net interest you? When the waiting-queue goes away, I wanted to see if networking was on or off, but it doesn't really matter there, because their firewall doesn't allow any internet access [otherwise chaos...]!
