I am using windows 10 x64. I was using ext2explore to extract system.img from a long time. As my interest grew in android development I dual booted Ubuntu 16.04 lts so as today i again want to extract system.img but when i opened ext2explore i was unable to load system.img something /dev/sda7 when i right clicked on it and clicked on save it started extracting my ubuntu files....dunno how to fix please help me out.. sorry for my bad english i hope u understood |
dev/sda* is the Linux notation for partitions on your hard drive. Specifically /dev/sda7 is the 3rd logical disk in an extended partition. It would be a good idea to find out what is on that partition in your particular setup. Probably your Ubuntu install.
I found this link on extracting Android system images, which you might find useful. |
Hello vinaykharayat,
I tried ext2explore on windows 10; however it did not work well for me, so I am using this linux reader: https://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/ It can read the disk partitions and also create and open disk images. It has only read access. Hope this helps. |
