How you do this depends on the VM software you use.
The instructions I gave you were on the assumption you wanted to boot the external drive as a native linux drive.

At this point you really need to rethink your approach. What are you trying to actually achieve by doing this? It sounds like you are trying something in a way that is far more complicated than it needs to be.

If you still want to stay with the VM approach, make sure you use the language of VMs to describe it.
I am not trying to store the VM images.
i have created two virtual machine. In one, i have installed the redhat 8.0(hda) and mounted another virtual machine(hdb) into red hat installed system. I am trying to copy the kernel image files from hda1 to hdb1. When i boot my hdb, getting error as, No init found.

Didn't you just tell us:
I was trying to boot a external hard disk with Linux

Now you seem to be saying that both "disks" are part of a Virtual Machine.
Are you trying to create a virtual multiboot machine? I don't think this is even possible! Why not just create a new RH VM normally?
