Help - I am new to Linux Redhat

Hello experts:

I installed Linux Redhat 8.0 on a HP D530 PC. Everything looks good when I want to activate the network card it says could not active the eth0. The NIC is "Integrated Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet". Also I created a share on this Linux server.

Now if anyone could please guide me here a little with network card and how could I use this shared folder would be greatly appreciated. I want to access this shared folder from Windows and make sure this is secured.

Thanks

How did you try too activate you nic?
for folder sharing you could use
1-nfs
2-samba
for just transfers
1-ftp
2-scp

I tried that from GUI. Again the PC is HP D530 and Integrated Broadcom NetXtreme Ethernet card.

File Sharing - how are you going secure the like security groups etc.

Thanks

sorry to burst your bubble, but you could try a later distro, as then you may find a kernel that supports that chip then...

it would be quicker to download a late version of fedora(new name for free version of redhat)(if thats what you wish to use) or get any of the latest distro's...

good luck...
