Help! I am new to Linux and have a HP Deskjet 710C printer

I am a new user of Linux and think it's brilliant, very fast. I have a HP DeskJet 710C printer and cannot find a driver that will work for me. I have looked on all the previous threads and have downloaded the programme DriverDetective and have also tried pnm2ppa.ppd, but it will still not print. What am I doing wrong please.

... pnm2ppa is the correct driver.

Which distro do you have?

I installed a hp 710C just two days ago using TMLinux, a spanish version of PCLinuxOS minime 2008. I did have to manually select the model, as the system recognized the printer as a 712C. That was the only thing I have to correct to install the printer and using it.

Did you try to install the printer driver through cups? Or configure cups for that ppd?
Did you try typing hp-toolbox or hp-setup in command line?
