HELP: How to recover rm -rf files?


Urgent, if I rm -rf some files, anyway to recover them? Oh my God!

Official answer: No. Once files are deleted they are gone.

However, this is highly dependant upon which filesystem you're using. Ext2 supports undeletion, but AFAIK is the only Linux filesystem which does.

Thank you for reply, I checked other posts on fourm, I am having ext3 and I think the hope of recovery files could be negative. Its ok

Try it anyhow, as ext3 is essentially ext2 plus a journal.
