Exclamation Help getting 3D acceleration on mandrake.


I was wondering if anyone knows hot to get the 3d acceleration going on Linux Mandrake 10.1? I have been working on it for about a month now. I got it to work easyley on SUSE, but mandrake seems to be a prob.. can some one plz help. I dont want to get stuck in the X server mode again.

You have to download a small script from the nvidia website (choose your system architecture first) www.nvidia.com/object/linux.html,
which does the istalation procedure of the drivers ...
It is so somplicated by the nvidia comp. because the drivers are not licensed open source.

There is a how to to read before the actual install process. You'll find it in the download package.

If you find the how to confusing, get back and post your question.

read the "how to" well 'cos you need to make changes manually to the files in the config of your X server ... the changes are crutial to make things work...
