Help! Gdk-error

I am a newbie attempting to install redhat 7.3 using the gui. After I enter network addresses for eth0 and eth1 I get serveral lines of syntax the most significant being
GDK-ERROR ** X connection to :1.0 broken (explicit killor server shutdown)
install exited abnormally

Then some more information on filesystems unmounting etc.

Can anyone help becasue I am at a complete loss even after reading all the install notes.

Thanks

JIM

Unfortunately, the "GDK-ERROR" line just indicates what you already know - that the GUI has been killed - "explicit kill or server shutdown". Something during the installation sent the signal to kill the GUI.

What lines come up prior to the GDK-ERROR line?

Ok, I now have the system working. Instead of manually configuring the ip address I set it to dhcp. It went straight through the configuration with no problem and after the install was complete, I then manually configured the IP address as statically. Everything is now fine and dandy. Really don't know what the problem was as the address information I used initially was the same as the one I used post config.

Anyway, never look a gift horse in the mouth as they say.

Thanks for the response, now I just have to crack on with the firewall.
