Hi, I just moved to Red Hat Linux. I am very Windows oriented and now with Linux I am completely lost. How do I download something. I downloaded a program but now how do I get to it to install it. Can I download to the desktop if so how. Please Help. With as much info as possible. Email responses would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks,

Yeah, what ever user your logged in as, you should find a /home/user/desktop directory where you can download directly to your desktop.
Well, when you first downloaded the program, where did you save it to, most of the time it goes to the default user home directory, /home/user
Then from there, depending on whatever type of file it is, you most likely just unzipp it form there and follow whatever programs readme or install file tells you to do to install it correctly.
